38. Strive for success

Success in the dictionary means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, but in reality it has a different definition for many people. Financial success, freedom of choice, open opportunities, having a family or finishing formal education… what does success mean to you?

Yesterday I met a founder with a 12 - figure exit strategy. $100,000,000,000 that’s 100 billion net worth, and still very normal. He said ‘we all put Levi’s on one leg at a time’ He retired at 39 from the corporate banking world, moved to the Bahamas and then used his business acumen to set up a private bank and help others achieve financial success.
A very interesting man, who has met many interesting people and has many interesting stories! Here are seven takeaways from last night’s discussions with him.
There are many factors that can contribute to success, but here are seven commonly mentioned secrets to success:
π Set clear goals:
Define what success means to you and set specific, achievable goals to work towards. Mensurable goals, smart targets and accountability are what help your intr toons come to fruition.
π Stay focused:
Concentrate on your priorities and avoid being distracted by less important tasks.
π Take action:
Success comes from taking consistent and purposeful action towards your goals. Reflect each week, month and quarter. What have you achieved, what needs to be adapted and how can you move towards your next goal?
